My favorite tools and resources

I’m always asked about the tools and resources that I use to run my business and why I love them, so I thought I’d share more with you about that here. Some of these tools you may not need right away, but could come in handy later.

FYI, some of these links are affiliate links, meaning I get a discount on my payments to the company or a payment in exchange for you signing up. However, I do use everything on this list and I’m only recommending things that I’ve found indispensable in my business.

Online apps and tools:

ConvertKit - This is my hands down go-to for my newsletter/email marketing. Why I love it: You can create sequences, add tags, and create automations for people who travel through your ecosystem. You can even sell things! And the customer service is outstanding.

Teachable - This is a course creation platform that allows you to create easy to access content, stay in touch with your students, process payments and so much more. They have great customer service, it is a fairly user friendly platform, and you can get started selling your idea really quickly.

Acuity - This is a scheduling program I couldn’t run my business without. It allows me to schedule discovery calls and session with ease, by creating my availability and having an automated email that they receive telling them next steps. I also have an extensive questionnaire that allows me to learn more about new potential clients so we have a really effective call. The $15/month version is perfect for most business’ needs.

Thrivecart - This is an easy-to-use way to create a payment link with information people need in order to buy. I love that you only pay once and you get lifetime access to the tool. It also has a lot of functionality, like product upgrades and tracking.

Honeybook - I use Honeybook for sending contracts that are signed online, but this also allows you to schedule, send invoices, and collect payment, which may help you avoid using other things on this list. I came to Honeybook late, and love what I‘m using for these other parts of my business currently - but this might be a one-stop shop for you.

Asana - This is a great project management system you can work together with others, store data you use again and again, keep systems in place so they can more easily be followed in future to save time, and keep track of tasks. I also recommend Louise Henry who has an awesome course teaching you how to optimize this tool to hit your goals here. You can also get her free workshop and roadmap to help you here.

Squarespace - This is where my website lives and was/is created - a pretty user friendly system with built in templates. I also highly recommend Louise Henry, who has a course called Website that Wows which walked me through the process of creating my website with ease, and you can get her free workshop and roadmap to creating your website here.

YNAB - Stands for You Need a Budget, an envelope system that I use and teach clients to use in order to deeply understand what you are doing with your money and planning for the future. You can start a free one month trial here.

Squadcast - This is where I host and record high audio quality podcast conversations. The pricing is quite reasonable and you can also record video for a slightly higher price point.

Captivate - My current podcast host, pretty user friendly and good customer service.

Gusto - As a corporation, I issue payroll and have had a good experience with Gusto running payroll online.

Bench - I also do my bookkeeping online with Bench, which prepares all of my paperwork for taxes. This saves a lot of time and tension, removing an important task from my from my plate. This was one of the first “big” investments I made that relieved major stress. Bench has a team of bookkeepers on my account and they are very responsive.

Canva - I could not run my business without this incredible tool for creating graphics for literally anything. They have thousands of templates, the sizes are plugged in. Well worth it to sign up for a professional account!

Business Credit Card: I use the United Mileage Plus Explorer card (Click here to learn more), which allows me to accrue miles and save money on other travel services. I fly for free a few times a year because of this card!

Other Services:

Legal contracts - I have purchased and loved Sam Vanderweilen’s Ultimate Bundle of legal contract templates, and the bundle also includes answers to so many of the legal questions that will come up for you at a fraction of the price of a lawyer (Sam is a lawyer!). You can watch her free workshop ‘5 Steps to Legally Protect & Grow Your Online Business’ here or go directly to the bundle here. She also offers “a la carte” options for legal contracts, including a starter pack here.

Copy Confidence Society - This is a course that helps you dial in the copy for your business, and sell with more ease while making it more fun. Creator Marisa Corcoran is available to help you hands on inside with your words. The program will run in the spring, and I’ll add a link here for the free masterclass when its announced.

Team Podcast - this is the team that edits and publishes my podcast every week. I adore the support and how they help podcasters monetize what they are doing.

Alexandra Sardi - My website developer Alex is incredibly talented. She helped me build this beautiful website! You can hire her too, if you don’t want to do it yourself.
